Emiliano Messiez | PIANO
Emiliano Messiez is a Latin Grammy-nominated composer and pianist from Argentina, now based in New York City. He founded and directs the Tango Orchestra Típica Messiez, is a member of the Romo-Agri-Messiez Tango Trio, and plays piano for the show Forever Tango. Trained in various genres, he has performed globally at venues like Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Houston Grand Opera.

As a composer, Emiliano has written musicals such as “Bordello, the Musical,” “The Guava Tree,” “Casa Alfonsa,” and “The City Dog and the Prairie Dog.” He has recorded several albums, including the Latin Grammy-nominated “Ahora” with the Romo-Agri-Messiez Tango Trio and “Psicoporteño” with his orchestra Típica Messiez.

Rodolfo Zanetti | BANDONEON
Rodolfo Zanetti, a native of Argentina, has played tango from an early age. He joined the Mancifesta Orchestra and Tango Punto before co-founding the Quintet Bandó, touring Washington, Chicago, and New York. In 2003, Zanetti directed “Maria de Buenos Aires” under the Astor Piazzolla Foundation.

As a soloist, he has performed with the Pan American Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, the Lisner Auditorium, the Embassy of Argentina, the Organization of American States, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. He won First Prize at the “Che Bandoneón International Competition” in Vermont, USA. In 2018, he played on the Latin Grammy-winning album “Vigor Tanguero” by Pedro Giraudo and was a soloist on the Grammy-nominated “Tango of the Americas” in 2020.

Sergio Reyes | VIOLIN
Sergio R. Reyes is a Guatemalan violinist, composer, and arranger based in NYC. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Blue Note Jazz Club. He has shared the stage with artists like Frederica von Stade, Clive Lythgoe, and Danny Rivera, and worked with tango musicians such as Pablo Ziegler and Héctor Del Curto. Reyes studied violin and composition at Interlochen Arts Academy, Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, and Manhattan School of Music, as well as in Europe at the Mozart European Academy and Ecoles d’Arts Américaines.

Passionate about arts, literature, and Guatemalan history, Reyes addresses societal challenges in his compositions for orchestra, chamber music, choral, and tango ensembles. He recently received a NYSCA grant to compose new music for The Harlem Chamber Players, to be premiered in Spring 2025.
