Lindy Hop with Midtown Swings
Lindy Hop on Tuesday nights with Gaby & AJ + the Midtown Swings crew!
Lindy 100 – 7pm
Perfect for beginners! This course will cover the basic fundamentals of swing. Each month, we will rotate through 6-count, 8-count and Charleston.
Recommended to join at the beginning of any month.
All-levels welcome, no partner or experience necessary.
> Move up to Lindy 150
Our learning recommendation is to take the 100 Class for all three rhythm series (3 months), before moving on to Lindy 150. Approximately 3-6 months.

Lindy 150 – 7pmÂ
Developed for beginners looking to refine their technique. This class focuses on partnering (lead/follow), rhythm, posture, pulse, and combining swing rhythms.
Prerequisite: Completion of at least one month of the Lindy 100 series.
> Move up to Lindy 200
Our learning recommendation is to complete all three rhythm series for Lindy 100 + at least one month of the Lindy 150 classes before moving on to Lindy 200. Approximately 4-6 months.

Lindy 200 – 8pm
This series is focused on social dancing skills, emphasizing vocabulary, connection and technique.
Prerequisite: Have taken at least 6 months of the Lindy 100/150 series and covered all three rhythms (6-Count, 8-Count, Charleston), or have equivalent dance experience and permission from the teacher to join.

WHAT IS LINDY HOP?
Lindy Hop, the original swing dance, is a social dance that originated in the 1920s-40s at the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, New York. Improvisational, playful, and highly rhythmic, this dance is defined by music of the Big Band era including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Benny Goodman.
