Josie LaRiccia
Book LessonJosie LaRiccia, the founder and artistic director of Josie’s International School of Dance since 2004, boasts a diverse and rich background in dance and academics. She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and also received an Avocational Degree in Archaeology from Norwalk Community College. Her dance education includes studying Ballet under Diane DuPre of the Joffrey Ballet in New York City, where she also served as an assistant Ballet instructor. With a special interest in character dance, Josie pursued Flamenco in New York City with renowned instructors such as Mariquita Flores, Mariano and Mariana Parra, and Jose Molina. She also studied Escuela Bolera (Classical Spanish Dance) with experts like Daniel DeCordoba, Mariano Parra, and Jerane Michel.
Josie’s expertise spans various dance styles, and she actively presents and performs Flamenco, Argentine Tango, and Salsa in Westchester and New York. Beyond her performance career, she holds certifications in Pilates and Kindermusik. Her dedication to dance education extends to her role as an adjunct dance teacher at Purchase College in Rye, New York, where she continues to inspire and educate the next generation of dancers.
