Ruth Hernandez

Ruth Hernandez is a seasoned Argentine tango dancer and instructor, boasting an illustrious career spanning over two decades. She has taught classes, led workshops, and performed in shows and festivals across Chile, Argentina, and the United States. Ruth received the “Outstanding Dancer” award at the National Tango Championship in Chile in 2015 and garnered recognition from the esteemed Chilean radio program “Malena Cuenta el Tango” in 2017. She was also the Vice-champion of the National Tango Championship in 2018 and 2019. Ruth is the founder of the online tango school “Al Sur Escuela de Tango.”

Currently, Ruth organizes Milonga en Sol in Hawthorne, NY, and Santa Milonguita in Stamford, Connecticut. She is also an active performer across various states and specializes in teaching women’s tango technique.
