Sara Oshinsky
Book LessonSara Oshinsky has taught ballet to children, teens, and adults. Trained at the Washington School of Ballet (Washington, DC) under Mary Day and with Madame Gabriela Darvash in New York City, she danced professionally and toured with Ballet West, New Jersey Ballet, Connecticut Ballet, and other regional companies. Repertoire includes works by George Balanchine, John Butler, Bruce Wells, Vicente Nebrada, and David Fernandez, as well as classics including Swan Lake, Giselle, La Bayadère, and The Nutcracker.
Sara has been certified by the United States Pilates Association to teach Pilates and is a graduate of New York University (BA) and The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum-Parsons School of Design (MA). She began at Danznik as a student in 2021 and dances pro-am American Smooth with Vitalii Kaliuzhnyi.
With her acute knowledge of biomechanics through the lenses of ballet, ballroom, and Pilates, Sara teaches the fundamentals of movement that help make turns, transitions, and the carriage of the arms more accessible to every body. Subjects also covered include improved coordination, stretch and strengthening, and balance and posture. Traditional ballet barre lessons are available as well.
