Yuka Kawazu

Yuka Kawazu, from Kanagawa, Japan, is known for her roles across the U.S. and Japan in various ballet and theater companies. She has served as a ballet mistress for the Staten Island Ballet Company and teaches annually at the New Jersey Dance Theater Project. Kawazu is a faculty member at New York studios such as Ballet Arts and Broadway Dance Center and has choreographed for theaters including the Alvin Ailey Theater.

She founded Danse En l’Air, a ballet company recognized by New York City Live Arts, and choreographed “Planets,” blending traditional and experimental dance. Kawazu is also a certified Pilates instructor and a guest professor in Japan.
